I bought this book for my son and he loves it. Since then I have purchased 5 more halo books for him. I am going to make a complete set for him.
Like the book but I think the spacing between books is a little off.otherwise great book.
Quite simply put, this book takes you back where everything began. It is done very well.I am not giving anything away but it explains nicely what the covenant has against the humans.A very good read.
I think that Joseph Staten was the best man for the job being that he worked with Bungie on the game this novel is based upon. Before I read the book, I wondered why Johnson was even a part of the game. Halo:Contact Harvest is by far the best first time author written science fiction book I have ever read. What the humans don't know is that when the covenant get the relics they long for, they are going to destroy Harvest. It had a very good story line, awesome characters, good information, and was an amazingly written book. I think that Staten described Avery Johnson really well and that it helped to know of him before I read the book. This book really helped me understand how the halo event all started and why.
When I heard that Staten was a first time author I didn't really have high expectations for the book, but now that I am finished with it I will have higher expectations for his next book if he ever writes another book. I think that the publisher (Tor) picked a great novel to publish. This book gave me all the information I was really looking for. The story takes place in the year 2524, and the covenant think they have found ancient forerunner relics on the planet Harvest. Johnson, leading the harvest militia is trying to drive the covenant away from their planet, and keep them away for some time. Again, this book is by far the best first time author science fiction book I have ever read. I have to give it a five star rating.
Good book to add to the series. If you like Halo Then you will love the book.
